I didn't want to use other brands of cartridges as I had some brands of staples that my printer doesn't support. recognize. But in the end after reading other reviews I thought it was worth $10 to try since the Canon equivalent is $80-$100 for the same kit (I have the MX922). I'm glad I did! I swapped out the yellow and large black cartridges and they print just fine. I unplugged my printer for 30 seconds (as suggested in the instructions) before the printer recognized them. Otherwise I see no difference to OEM. Can't say how long they will last as I've only had them a short time but the cartridges were clearly full so I doubt that would be a problem. Even if that were the case, the Canon 251XL cartridge alone is $25 at Revain, while the entire set of five cartridges costs a fraction of that amount. I only wish I had tried them sooner! UPDATE A year later I just ordered my third set. I type a lot and they work perfectly. Interestingly, I didn't have to reset the printer for the new cartridges after my first set - I just popped them in and they're ready to go. It's great not spending a fortune on ink!
