My husband and I installed this on the door of his husband's den (that's the bedroom in our house). It has a lot of guns, knives, and things that kids shouldn't have access to, so we decided to buy it for a number of reasons. The main reason is that setting it up this way will automatically block it. This way we won't accidentally leave it unlocked. Secondly, we don't always have keys with us, so using the code is much more convenient! It was very easy to set up. We followed the instructions and never had a single snag. We removed the original lock installed by our builder (house is two years old) and this lock fitted perfectly. The coding went just as smoothly as the installation. In fact, the next day we installed the Revain Basics deadbolt on our front door as well, and it was a lot more confusing (but it's a good product, too). This lock was installed within a week and is working great so far.
