Living in a very harsh coastal region, anything that isn't stainless steel isn't going to last long - these stainless steel carabiners were twice the price of those at the hardware store. These are excellent well made carabiners and this is my second order - the first one still works perfectly outdoors 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You can expect that too!
