Review on Stay Organized And Productive With Papercode Daily Planner 2022-2023 - Simple Elephant, Pink by Richard Messar

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Meh.disappointing best in my review

Short review: after looking through it for 5 minutes, I'm sending it back. Really, 88% of reviewer thought this was 4 or 5 stars? Hmmmm.Longer review: I was really looking forward to working with this planner after seeing some Youtube video of 3 people using it for a month.it seemed like it had all kinds of productivity tools, but in reality, there were just a few and I found it quite monotonous. 1st off, it's comparable to a Moleskine in size and price, but the paper doesn't feel smooth and luxurious to me. It was like a mild fingernails on a chalkboard reaction. The paper wasn't that thick.you can see the printed leaflet through the page, and my gel pen ink will be much thicker. 2nd, I have a strong preference for planners with micro-perforated tabs to easily keep track of days that have passed. This has 3 ribbon bookmarks, but they're all the same color. It also has all the month at a glance at the front, followed by 52 weekly spreads. Since there's no small visual for each month on the weekly page, like with some dated planners, you then have to flip through to the front to find the prior month. Then there is just the bizarreness of the "tools"- 1 slot at the front for gratitude list for the entire year and the other half the page for affirmations; no space to update as the year goes on or make it a regular practice. Neither of these things done 1x is helpful, and it's highly likely that if you really are kicking ass and taking names because of your increased productivity, those entries will change as time goes on. Then there's the tiny mind map and tiny vision board. There is not enough room on this small single page for magazine images etc, much less my grand visions! Then on each week, there's a space to write your goal, your successes and what you could have done better (better write tiny and be succinct!). That's it; no place to write action steps, track habits, no place for a to-do list. You do get an email with some downloadable pdfs that have some interesting goal oriented info, but even that had an oddly sarcastic, jokey tone as if goal setting and planning were a touchy subject that needed to be sidled up to. It also didn't match the seriousness of the planner itself. And while these things are too small/too few to be helpful, the size is awkward and heavy to carry around as a daily planner, yet too small to work with it in any meaningful way It comes with a half sheet of cheap stickers which aren't enough to last the year, unless you only plan on getting paid 8x and having 4 coffee dates. Then there's the notebook stuck in the back that has lined pages that seem even smaller than college-ruled. If that's supposed to be the spillover space for additional mapping and visioning then blank pages or micro-dots or even graph paper would have felt more freeing. Then let's talk colors-- it only comes in black, dark blue and light pink; why? Even Moleskine, which is very traditional, comes in 6 colors, some of which are fun. In summary, this planner needs to go in the "what could have been done better" square. This is a dud. I'm sending it back. I don't get the hype.
