Quality control sucks. If you are looking for a unit that can be built once and never fall apart again, this is perfect for you. The threads on the shaft to the base are both VERY rough. It took about 30 minutes to scrape the tread at the base with a utility knife and transfer the threaded end of the shaft to the spoked wheel to put it all together. . Disappointing as I was hoping to use this app frequently. Anyway, despite my best efforts, the shaft is only half screwed into the base and won't move. The second part. The collet is plastic, but the piece of plastic that pulls the shaft together when it's extended was pinched halfway through the threads when it arrived. I had to hold the plastic piece and drive the shaft into the ground as hard as I could to get it loose from the upper thread. Honestly. I simply had to return the item after realizing that the base was unthreaded and the plastic part was damaged. All in all I think it will be good for my needs. I mount a very lightweight 360 degree time-lapse camera on top of it, taking up minimal space. I'll update it later if it's used. Hope it pays off. (Used, works great for me)
