Buzzing sound from this cable

I'm not sure if I have a defective cable but when I tried to use it with my Nt Mini I heard background hissing. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the hum was 100% coming from this cable - when I unplugged the RCA audio cables and left this cable plugged in, the hum remained.
