Parts are not built to last - watch out for expensive replacement parts

Blades are built to last just a few years. Then they start peeling off the coating and you risk food contamination. We had a Panisonic bread maker and have been using it for over 20 years with no problems. But this one, even though it costs twice as much, isn't made to last! The problem with disposable paddles is not only the cost of replacement, but more importantly, the risk of contamination. It's often discovered too late - you've already used up a lot of flakes and powder, split by a pair of inferior paddles. We called Zojirushi support and they deny any defects in their product but told us to replace the paddles regularly. Hey, they only tell you that if you find those paddles damaged. They don't warn us in the product description or even in the instruction manual. They just don't care about consumer health. Avoid Zojirushi, a brand of inferior products disguised as high prices.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No insurance
