in recent summers my old 3" bucket hat just wasn't cutting it anymore for sun protection. but alas, i can't quite pull off the full-on floppy sunhat beach bunny fantasy, either. well, i look stupid in this hat too, but it's the happy medium so i make it work. i cut a small hole in the back to stick my hair through, which looks extra stupid but it's better than having sweaty hair hanging down my neck or trying to smush it all inside the hat. i popped on some buttons i like in a vain attempt to distract some of the attention away from my fashion faux-pas. but back to the product's performance. i wore this on several super windy, sunny days "deaw'na shore," including a dolphin boat tour where i would normally be at the mercy of the elements. this hat keeps the sun off my face and stays put thanks to the silly looking chin strap. function over form is the name of the game here, and this was the winner for me (omg i can't believe i actually typed that but i don't have a better closing line).
