If you know how to work with vehicles and know a little about working with electrical components you can probably get by, but I'm not one of them. Secondly, it is obvious that the ground wire was not installed correctly, and after the fuse blew, the device began to smoke. I attached the wire to the frame as instructed, but I probably had to make sure it was metal to metal where the ground wire touched. After all the work, it was frustrating to have everything plugged in only to literally turn it to smoke. I have a RAV4 and don't have access to a lift, but someone here recommended using a wire hanger to pierce the driver's side bushing. and it worked very well. Eventually I'll just do it in UHaul.
