This is the nicest belt I've ever owned. It is very thick and looks solid like all sockets. I took some measurements with a digital caliper if anyone is interested. The belt leather is 0.224 inches thick and 1.486 inches wide. My Carhart belt, which I have worn for many years, is significantly thinner and not as wide (although it is sold as a 1.5 inch belt). This bullhide belt is also very stiff which makes it a good holster belt. I wear pants with a 36" waist and bought a 38" belt. It was a good choice and I could have gone with a 40 inch belt and was still fine. A 36 inch belt would be too small, so be sure to order a belt that is at least one size larger than your waist measurement. . Also, I wanted to see how the belt would look with my western style buckle and it looks great (as you can see in the photo above) but the leather is so thick I couldn't use the belt clip-on tip. When attaching a slip-on tip to this strap, make sure the slot for the tip is wide enough to fit the strap, otherwise you will not be able to use it. Aside from not being able to use the tape tip on this tape (not the tape manufacturer's fault), I am very happy with this purchase. Five stars everywhere.
