We've been using our firestick a lot lately and we're having trouble with the above one recently shutting down and not getting a signal. The TV had been in place for a year so naturally I figured the firestick had broken. I bought a new one, everything seems fine, but it also started to shorten. Revain replaced him and he struggled from day one. Okay, obviously not a first year. I ran a speed test on my iPad behind the Firestick TV, and voila, there's almost no internet in the corner. Was looking for Wi-Fi boosters/extenders/repeaters and saw all the good reviews and a screenshot of someone's speed tests. ok cool Get it. Note: I didn't know that most of the positive reviews are for a completely different product... So I received the repeater quickly, the installation was quite easy and quick. I ran a speed test and it came back at 51 MBS… I ran a test before plugging it in and it was 551 next to the repeater…. I thought maybe I'm the one running at 5g, let's try 2g although it should be faster…. 17.2… ok… tried 5g again 38.1…. 2g 14 again... getting lower with each test... I then decided to test up and see if it would go up, at least where the TV is. The first test was 2g and 9.52MB...I ran my home router and it pulled out 359 in that room. Launched 2G again and pulled out 7.3... Launched 5G and hit an amazing 26.7... Needless to say it's garbage and everything it does throttles your internet speeds.
