First of all, I want to say that this is not easy installation and programming. I am disabled and heavily dependent on voice activated smart devices. I was intrigued by this lock because of Alexa's voice activation feature. However, after spending a few hours pairing the device with the app. I understood that the instructions said that a gateway needs to be installed. Which slightly increases the purchase price by $40. Something I want to know before buying. Without a gateway, I can't even use the phone app in my bedroom to lock the door because the distance is too far. (50 feet). I've read that with a gateway I can lock it remotely when I'm not at home and I'm hoping to be able to lock it out of my bedroom which is why I bought it in the first place. I'll update the review when I actually receive the gateway to see if that's the missing link. So far the blocking is only working 50% hoping the gateway will do its job. The password function is also somewhat questionable. It says hold the hash sign for 2 seconds to unlock it after entering the PIN. It doesn't work that we literally have to smoothly insert the pin and press the grille five or six times before the door finally closes.
