The fold in hook is a nice feature to hang this in convenient places. While the motor is decent, I'm not sure it would provide a decent air flow hanging in a tent in hot weather. It might be OK at night when the twin intensity light could be used. The fan and the light have separate switches which is good. The fan has three speeds, although nothing earth shattering. It is very quiet though. The light has two intensities, although neither is very bright, they would mostly provide a little ambient light, not like a spot or a flashlight. I think both the lighting and the fan are designed for optimum power efficiency. Motors and flashlights are both relatively large consumers of battery power. Though this uses twin 2200 mAh Lithium rechargeable batteries, they won't last long if the fan is on full speed, and the light is the brighter setting.Maybe the best application is on a desktop at the office, the quiet fan and a nice wide base would serve you for hours if doing OT, or just fighting a weak A/C system. The light might be useful as well if the lights are out save your laptop or cell phone. The hook folds in perfectly to make the base level when not hung up, so it adapts to standing or hanging pretty well. Fan comes with a USB charging cable, but no transformer. I don't like it that they keep leaving that out, I can't use my phone charger transformer or my computer's USB for everything. Given that this has two large batteries that need the charging, it would have been prudent to include the transformer to plug this into and outlet or a power strip. Could be better, but I still make it recommended.
