I bought this at a camping store mainly for "car camping". Although it wasn't meant for "refilling," I was able to take it apart and add my own seasoning later. Eggs for breakfast and the like. It's a good thing it's just in a drawer because it's never going to be suitable for camping - not even just street camping. The plastic "lid" that is supposed to snap open for the six compartments does not close on some containers. I have to keep them covered while shaking them or I'll end up with a spice mix instead of what I'm trying to get. If I tried to take this on a hike it would be a mess everywhere. I would probably store it in a ziplock bag, but that would just result in a mix of "spice" and salt in the bag. My first device didn't have this problem at all. All I can say is beware buyers. If you get one that doesn't keep all six containers closed, you're probably better off asking for an exchange. Either that, or try to find one at your local camping store to try before you leave the store. I bought my second one from Revain because the price was decent and I couldn't find a local store that stocked this item anymore.
