The mug itself is perfect, the design is cute, the mug works as it should. The ear is wide enough to accommodate large hands or two fingers and is wide enough for a good cup of soup or coffee. My only complaint, and the reason I took off a star, is that the lid doesn't fit the mug snugly, so doesn't seal well, and if you tilt it when it's full of liquid it will likely start dripping.
