Pretty good, but not impressive

This monitor is a big upgrade for me so overall I'm happy with the purchase even if it's not everything I wanted. I have problems: 144 Hz is honestly not that noticeable to me. I can clearly see the difference in online tests, but in everyday computer use it doesn't seem so smooth. It is not compatible with G-Sync. He claims it's not, but I wanted to try anyway. I have G-Sync enabled but I still have noticeable screen tearing at 70-80 fps. The monitor does not go to sleep when the computer is running. After a period of inactivity, it tries to sleep for a second and then turns on and tries again indefinitely. Monitor speakers are not very high quality, but loud enough. I like that they even have. These things could be problems with my computer/windows: My computer seems to prefer my TV as the output. I had problems before where it could only boot into the BIOS, in which case the monitor was black all the time. It only outputs to my TV which was off. If both are enabled, the screensaver will appear on the TV before the login (which is set as the primary display) will appear on the monitor. I think maybe that was the case with my old monitor which I connected via DVI, the TV is HDMI, this monitor is DisplayPort. Sometimes monitor speakers are not available as an option. This only seems to be available if TV is also available as an option. When only Realtek audio is available I can turn on the TV and then the NVidia options will be listed. I know this is normal, but I don't like it when the screen goes black every time I turn on the connected TV or launch certain games. The monitor has no cosmetic issues or dead pixels. I've had it for about a month now. I don't know how well Freesync works for someone with an AMD GPU, but if you're looking at it for Gsync, I don't recommend it. However, for the prices I've seen, it's a good buy for just a 144Hz monitor. I just haven't seen much benefit from it considering I can't run modern games at such high frequencies anyway.
