Good idea but harmful and ineffective
I may have the wrong type of hinge (standard hinged door) but the pin is not thick enough. The big problem is that it crashes into the molding. This may not be the case if your bar doesn't reach the hinge. It also makes a loud rubbing/creaking noise (probably because it's rubbing wood).
