Review on Trans Dapt 1099 Hamburger Oil Pan by Robert Correa

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good quality frying pan. Although not the best finish. Not suitable for nv3500 without amazing work.

I ordered this pan for a 1991 4WD S10 which I am replacing with an early 70's 4 bolt Basic 350. First, let me say that I haven't installed an engine on my truck yet. But the oil pan is now installed on my engine. First of all this kit includes an oil pickup tube and it is a beautiful very well made piece. I used a Melling M55 oil pump. And it fits perfectly. As for the pan, the pads that come with it are of pretty good quality, they're neither cork nor rubber, they almost feel like compressed felt. I don't know, we'll see how well they work. The pan itself is of excellent quality and fits perfectly. Although the finish in the pan is not very good. There are paint streaks and even a bald spot where he rubbed the paint off from the factory during a ride. In general, for me it is not critical. The screws supplied with this kit have a hex head and are supplied without washers. I absolutely hate witches so I didn't use them. I just received a set of ARP screws and am using them. I will update this review once I have the motor installed while I would rate it a 9/10. I give it 5 stars when it cleans my front differential with the manufacturer recommended motor mount upgrade (trans dapt 4406). To date I have installed a test engine and the sump clears the front differential with no problems but if you plan to use a 5 speed nv3500 you will need to install a new drain plug as the bearing location matches the slave cylinder mount. . I was able to fit a new one, but that's a serious oversight on the part of the hamburger/trans dapt. You need to move it to a better place in future pots.
