With all the positive reviews I was dying to try this lens and I think it's a very good deal on a 16mm f1.4 autofocus lens. The first lens I came across was completely dead! He wouldn't concentrate at all! I tried it on another Sony camera body. Manual or auto focus did not work. I'm a pro, I've had over 20 lenses since I started taking photos and videos and this was the first time I've encountered a dead lens. I got worried after I turned the camera off and put in a different lens because the other lens made a very strange noise when I turned the camera on. This lens had a silent autofocus, so it shouldn't make any noise! I was afraid that a defective lens would damage the electronics of my a6400. After some tests everything was fine. Thank goodness for Revain's excellent returns policy. Received a replacement within 2 days and it works fantastic! This matches all the fantastic reviews I've read. The autofocus works very well on the a6400. I bought it for video and at f1.4 it's sharp enough for video. This is a very cinematic lens with a shallow depth of field and a full frame equivalent focal length of 24mm. This is the perfect gimbal prime lens for the a6400. I give 1 star for the defective first lens and 5 stars for the replacement. My only concern is the durability of this lens. Make sure you buy it from an authorized Sigma dealer. Not all sellers at Revain are like that.
