***updated after 3 months of use*** It's really hard to choose on Amazon these days, everyone's opinions and expectations are so different. After 3 months of use, the amount of villi is now average, the color has not changed, it absorbs and feels good. There is no fluff on my skin. A few threads came out, that's all. But considering how often we put them in the washer and dryer, clothes certainly wear out faster. For less than $10 for a towel I can't complain. *** I've been looking for soft cotton towels for a long time and honestly thought they were impossible to find without spending a fortune. I've even bought more expensive Turkish towels from Costco (one of the first photos) and I didn't like them, nor did I like their color. Costco towels are much thicker, not very soft and absorbent. In my experience, a thicker towel doesn't always mean softer and more absorbent. I had a few other cotton towels, I've added a photo of the white one for comparison. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Ephesus. I would say they are thinner than Costco but very soft, fluffy and absorbent. I also liked their rich gray color. They fall out and must be washed separately before first use. I have a feeling they will fade in the first few washes but after the first wash they are much softer. The color is the same. And I don't use fabric softener at all, and my washer and dryer are from those old models. All in all for the price of getting four large towels it's a lot. That's enough for now, but I'll definitely remember it as a gift idea, possibly with individual embroidery. I'll try to update my review in a few months, I'll see how they hold up after many washes. So far I'm very happy with them.
