Not much bass as expected

I bought this for my center console boat. My main problem is that there is no suitable place to install on the boat. Placing it under a pushchair seat means you have to run cables through the floor and the connectors are exposed to salty air. I don't see it taking that long. I installed it in my console, it's not ideal for sound quality and while it added some bass it wasn't what I was hoping for.
