The meat tenderizer really is a quality product and should last for years. Both sides of the meat tenderizer are great for breaking and cutting meat fibers. It's almost 2 lbs which helps make the hammering process good and the spikes are very sharp. (So avoid all the light tools that never work). Make sure your closet is well protected from damage. Spikes can be removed quickly with a normal kitchen brush. It's dishwasher safe, but not the little plastic ring under the handle.
