Review on K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Boost Horsepower for 2003-2009 MAZDA (3, 5, 5 Van): 69-6010TR by Roy Whetstone

This was fitted to my 2005 Mazda3 S manual transmission. I'm only giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because the original version I bought didn't have a weld on the frame. It was a design flaw as the motor always moves a little on its mounts when riding and the tube was bolted to the frame which is not the case. Over time this weakened the weld and eventually left a gaping hole in the pipe. The new design has the tube attached to the engine so it moves with the engine. So far, so good. I didn't notice any leaks or cracks. This makes your car sound louder and makes an audible "whoosh" noise when you accelerate. In terms of performance improvement, no one can ever tell the difference. I got it because I love K&N air filters and how easy they are to clean and lubricate. When installing, be careful not to overtighten the clamps as this may damage the soft pipe.
