I was looking for a background that I can quickly adjust when trying to shoot some quick videos instead of throwing out coasters and giant rags. Personally, I don't do much work in front of the camera, but as this could be something in the future, I wanted something that I can easily set up behind me and also use to block out unwanted things in the background of my station when I'm recording or photographing me. I've seen two real options for this. Just a simple collapsible backdrop that I could use with a stand and clip, or this one that includes an elastic band to easily attach to a chair. Since my workspace is very cramped, I thought it would be difficult to install a stand and clamp behind my chair, and even with a child running around, it's never like there's anything resting loosely against the wall. That was an advantage for me. To comment on the background itself, it pretty much lives up to expectations. It looks perfect. Folding is easy. It's a great size for close-up shots at the desk and is great for blocking out a cluttered background when I'm doing more close-up shots in front of me. In a way, you can bring a studio environment into a space you wouldn't normally use for filming or photography.
