Bought these for our two cats (7lbs and 9lbs) for our move to Japan. They are of decent quality, they have a shoulder strap and a handle for any type of carrying. The side pocket is good for storing snacks or tranquilizer collars ;) I probably have my biggest problem with the airlines, not the company that makes the bags. We contacted our airline to get a correctly sized carrier and this bag met the criteria but when we sat in our seats (Economy Plus at United) the bags did not fit under the seat no matter how you tried, to stow them away. And I had no legroom on the 11-hour flight to Tokyo. But as I said, this is most likely an airline issue as the seats are getting smaller and smaller. Additional note: Allow extra time if flying with a pet as baggage. Also, although we were allowed to skip the long security line, the TSA would force you to take your pet out of the carrier and put it through a metal detector, my cats weren't thrilled and neither was I.
