Review on πŸ”§ Milescraft 1325 PocketJig200 - Enhanced Pocket Hole Jig Kit for Precise and Efficient Joinery by Brian Micheals

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A cheap replacement for the Kreg Jig.

This works as intended. If you have the patience and aren't doing a large project that requires lots of countersunk screws, this will work for you. BUT. if you can see multiple projects in your future. or you really like working with wood I suggest that you either save your money and buy a KREG JIG K4 set or if your budget allows. K5 kit is amazing. I have 2 sets of KREG JIG K4 and have made some beds and tables. bookshelf and more. If I had to use a Milescraft Pocket Jig kit or a Kreg Jig R3 I don't think I would build anything further. This Milescraft Pocket Hole Kit is a great addition to your toolbox for minor repairs on things like broken kitchen chair legs, cracked drawers, etc., but for assembly, the Kreg Pocket Hole K4 can't be beat for ease of use and price. I bought his kit because I only had a Kreg K4 kit at the time and it was 1200 miles away in my garage at home. I was doing renovations at our other home in Arizona and didn't want to spend $149 on a tool I already had. Yes. it didn't work that well. After wrestling with the Milescraft kit for a few days, I gave up and started looking for another Kreg K4. I found one on sale for $99 and bought it. Milescraft works as intended. and as said. If you're just doing a small renovation or a random project, this will work just fine. Don't expect this kit to stand up to prolonged use and any manual handling will leave you with a broken tool. It's not as durable as the Kreg kits. If you really want to build something. KREG JIG is the only way out. Or. If you use 2X4 or 2X6 wood most often and can find it at a reasonable price, PORTER CABLE QUIKJIG is another great choice. The KREG K5 kit is the best kit, but the price makes it unaffordable for many hobbyists. for your information. my 2 cents. Do not attempt to use drywall screws for pocket holes. Original Kreg screws work best and cost no more than drywall screws and broken boards that don't hold together well. Use genuine Kreg screws.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Requires Socket
