Everyone argues that a clay cloth is as good as a clay block. Now here's the point that everyone overlooks; Using a clay towel is BETTER than using a clay bar. While a clay bar will do the job a little better than a clay cloth, it will only do the job "a little bit better" IF YOU ACTUALLY USE IT. Working with a clay bar requires so much work that I endlessly procrastinate and never get the job done. However, using a clay cloth is so quick and easy that I have no problem using it twice a year to keep my car looking its best. Bar. However, if you are a normal person who wants your car to look good, use a towel. UPDATE 8-10-18 WARNING I use a clay cloth and love it. However, I've recently learned that there should be absolutely no pressure when using it. If you apply pressure (which doesn't require much pressure) you will damage the paint. I learned this lesson the hard way. UPDATE 3-23-19 GOOD NEWS When I pressed on the clay cloth it left black marks on my car's body, I thought I rubbed the paint down to the primer. I just found out it's not. The black stains were not from a clay cloth and could easily be removed with paint thinner. Despite this good news, you should know that a clay cloth gets the job done without putting any pressure on it. Just use a clay cloth as if you were wiping water off a countertop. BTW, the lube I use when I use a clay cloth on my car is Meguiar's Quick Detail. This product works well and is reasonably priced at Walmart.
