This will work but is very weak and will flex like softer low carbon steel and will not behave like stainless steel as it does not have a stainless steel spring. The item arrived deformed and any place the screw goes through is concave or deformed due to the tightening of the clasp. The item also appears to be spray painted, as can be seen in one of the close-up photos of the screw head. After scratching a small spot to test, found the paint peeled off easily like spray paint. I'm going to use it indoors just to be on the safe side so it doesn't start rusting. Hope it lasts with repeated use.
