One side is softer than the other

I expected this duvet to be very soft on both sides but it is not. One side was very soft and the patterned side was more like linen. The design is very cute, I love hedgehogs. I think overall this is a cute product but I was just expecting a very soft baby blanket on both sides. I hope with enough washes it will soften over time.
