As most buyers of this router have discovered, this router is extremely unreliable. The router is easy to set up and also has a handy feature to access the router settings through the Linksys website. . It also allows you to configure the router when you are not connected to it. While this router works, it's pretty good apart from a small range for the 5GHz band. Even in a 2-room apartment, the 5GHz range is halved when accessing from the 2nd room and drops to 1 bar when leaving the apartment. However, the 2.4GHz band has a solid range and I have no complaints about it. The router offers good speed on both bands. The USB function for accessing an external hard drive worked flawlessly in my short test. In general, when the router works, it works fine. The problem with this router is that after a few hours the router just stops working. The only solution is to restart it. In my usage I have to restart it 2 times a day. This is very annoying and quite frankly not to be expected from a Linksys product. Just to make sure I'm on the latest firmware too. I think it's better to try your luck with a TP-Link router. Update: 9/22/2015 -------------- --After contacting Linksys Technical Support, the router still loses internet connectivity. It's time to send it back and switch to another brand. Goodbye Linksys, you were a great brand!
