The original dock that came with my DC35 had a cable that went through the back of the dock, came out at the top and closed in the charge port slot. For docking and charging, the top edge of the battery compartment must reach the top edge of the slot. This model has the top of the charging socket covered and you need to thread the cable through the hole on the back of the docking station. This will prevent you from sliding the battery case into the docking station and you will not be able to connect to charge. Also, a locking ball about 4 to 5 inches from the end of the charging cable (allowing room to bend the cable on the OEM dock) will not fit in the cable channel on the back of the dock. so it doesn't lay flat against the wall I think it works on some models but it definitely doesn't work on mine!
