These are garbage. They would never tighten properly. After a few months of use one of them flew off the top of Jeep Cherokee while on the freeway taking my kayak holder with it. Thank goodness we didn't have the kayaks on there at the time! It didn't hit anyone but if it did we would have had a lawsuit on our hands. Don't get these unless you like taking big risks. I'm going to have the factory-installed ones put on my car. More money but much safer!
