These toys are for PRETEND and not for learning even the most primordial basics of music theory. The drum is the only thing that actually fulfills its purpose (how hard is it to screw up a drum?), but the lid part of the drum does not stay on. The trumpet is unusable by children, adults can only get a pathetic squeak out of it by blowing unreasonably hard, and the keys do nothing. The "harmonica" appears to be made from the squeaker elements of two pet chew toys and both holes have the same note. The recorder partially works, but amazingly plays only one note and sometimes on accident plays two despite all of the finger holes. The maracas are decent and the tambourine is solid plastic with metal cymbals that mostly works. My kids 2 and 5 got bored with them in about 30 minutes, because they are one note toys.
