Fantastic shoes. I am a size 6 with very few exceptions. My feet are pretty typical - no problems with instep, arch, bunions or anything like that. I don't have wide feet so I never have to order large sizes, but I don't like pointy shoes as they always feel like they pinch my toes, so my feet may be a bit wider in that area. There are many different opinions about sizing, so I try to be as accurate as possible about my foot size. After reading all the reviews I decided to go half a size up and ordered a 6.5 - I was nervous because my course starts in a few days and I didn't have time to exchange them. For me, half a size larger than usual was PERFECT. They were soft and comfortable right out of the box. I wear them with very thin nylon socks - maybe twice as thick as tights. Some people have mentioned short laces, but I tie them with no trouble and they stay tied. I assume there's a reason for this, and I assume it's mostly because longer laces look messy. If you are confused by short shoelaces, they can easily be replaced with longer ones. Other people have also mentioned the weird/musty smell (some of the girls in my class have these shoes and are talking about them). Personally, I've never noticed the smell - it's only really noticeable if you're pressing your shoes right up to your face - and hopefully your feet are on the ground and not next to someone's nose, you should be fine. ; ) The smell is probably from the chemicals used to color them.
