I bought two of these to make sure they were at least accurate between devices. I also have several other temperature/humidity units that don't match their readings. RESULTS: The two AcuRite 01083M Pro units were right between the two units. Temperature readings were always the same between the two, and humidity readings were usually the same between them. Sometimes the humidity differed by a percentage point between the two. The temperature readings matched my other thermometers exactly. The moisture reading matched exactly with one of my other moisture monitors. CONCLUSION: Temperature and humidity readings are ACCURATE. It seems technically more difficult to get accurate humidity readings, as you can see by reading reviews of other humidity monitors. So I'm very happy with the accuracy of the humidity readings on this monitor. I bought them primarily to get accurate humidity readings at various levels in my home. So I'm glad the base/peak value is Humidity %. That's my main interest. I know there have been other reviewers who have complained about the notoriety of the moisture readings. But I suspect that for those primarily interested in moisture indicators, this is actually an advantage, not a disadvantage. I know the instrument can be calibrated (that's also a big plus), but I didn't have to recalibrate either of my devices.
