Great grip for the serious mobile photographer!

I love this unit! and I bought my own iPhone 7 Plus so I could always have a decent camera with me, however I was frustrated by how clumsy it was to hold this slippery phone with two hands and try to find the tiny side buttons or press the button on the screen right spot. The Pictar grip solves my problems, I can operate it with one hand and the shutter button is easy to reach and feels like I'm actually holding a 'real' camera in my hands. Another great feature is its size. It's perfect proportions so it's easy. I was glad it fits easily in my shorts or khaki bag. I thought about wearing it with jeans. I le I'm in Florida so it's only cool enough to wear jeans sometimes, but when I did I was amazed that it also fits in the front pocket. Maybe very skinny jeans would be a problem but my 501 Levi's were no problem! What can't please? Well, the software you need to work with Pictar. If you are only familiar with the phone app that comes with the iPhone, you will think that this software is amazing. You can save your images as uncompressed TIFF files, which is a huge quality advantage over JPEG. However, it lacks some features already available in other applications, notably the ability to save images in raw format to have even more control over the quality than in TIF. I contacted the company (Miggo based in Israel), their representative told me that Raw and other features will be included in future updates, but for now the company is just trying to keep up with the demand for hardware. I'm used to using an app called ProShot which has a lot more features and sometimes I use it instead of the current Pictar app but still being able to hold the device in one hand with the grip is a huge improvement and it is actually very easy to press the trigger with your thumb while holding it in one hand. I'm concerned about the battery life (it has a small, not cheap, battery that showed only 65% left on the first day after minimal use. These are minor complaints. I really like the Pictar's grip and it's long overdue in addition to the growing field of mobile photography.
