Review on Bright Colors Aluminum Spring Snap by Eugene Cox

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks good but is not very durable.

I was looking for new snap hooks for my practice grip. The ones that came with it were a bit big. When the edges of the feather were trimmed, a significant gap was left. These smaller clamps are perfect for attaching my Midwest practice pen. They snap easily into place and leave virtually no gaps. They are made of cast aluminum, which is both a plus and a minus. They are light and the anodized colors are really beautiful. However, cast aluminum is not a very strong material. One of my clips broke on day one when I had to remove the grip from the rain. Of course it could just be an ass clamp as others have endured but from now on I will remove the clamps before moving the grip. For light loads they should be fine. Like most non-brass latches, these are a little squeaky and tight when you move the latch. My solution to this is a Quick-Shot Liquid Wrench Dry-Lube with PTFE. I prefer this over regular light oils as the liquid carrier evaporates quickly and the part feels dry. I have a few of these too and they are good quality solid parts (I posted a review about them too). See the image I posted for size comparison. The big one on the left is the product I linked above. The center is the clip that came with my Midwest brand pet grip. The smaller one on the right is the product in this review.
