Use a knife or utility knife.

All sealant removal tools are scams. The plastic ones work well for 30 seconds, then the blades snap. Metal will scratch drywall better than caulk removal. This one is absolutely useless. My $5 Walmart Coleman camping knife works better and I can sharpen it like a box opener blade. An old credit card or a 25-cent guitar pick works just as well for smoothing out caulk as $2 rubber foam.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

Highly recommend but you will break it.

Spacer also fan fxxxx tastic. Highly recommended. I also liked the scraper as it worked very well and was gentle enough not to damage the tile or tub. At the same time, it collapsed into several key sections halfway through the second project. So keep that in mind. This is not a commercial tool for long-term use. This is a purchase for the current project tool. However, it worked amazingly. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Not bad

Excellent purchase. suitable for power tools and hand tools

I've recently started work on my master bath. The seal around the tub needed to be renewed as it started to peel off. I tried scraping all the old putty off myself with a flat blade but nothing worked after 10 minutes. I ordered this product and two days later when it arrived I was over the moon! It took me less than 5 minutes to completely remove 8 feet of grout around the tile. I was amazed at how easy it was to use. The adjustable silicone tip at the end was an added bonus and helped me…

A must for every bathroom!

We are currently renting out our apartment and when we moved in we noticed that the owner tried to reseal the bathtub over the old silicone that came out after a few months. Instead of our landlord making the same mistake again, we decided to buy this tool and try it ourselves. The metal part was easy to remove leaving a clean surface for applying new silicone. The rubber nozzle can be rotated to adjust it to the desired roller size. The masking tape helped with the excess silicone and the…

I don't like it so I removed the flash from the rubber.

I gave this item 4 stars instead of 5 just because of the burr left on the rounded edges of the tool. If it stays on the last bead of gasket it will leave burrs, I don't like that so I deburred the rubber gasket. I know what everyone is thinking, or at least most people are. Why do I need a sealing tool? Just use your finger right? Yes, then there are probably a lot of people reading these reviews who have tried it and learned how to use the tool with pretty lousy results. If it's just a window

  • practical item

Not suitable for removing sealant

I really wanted to love this tool. The metal part is not sharp enough to cut through the sealant. In the end, I used a precision knife and cut a continuous line horizontally along the top and bottom of the caulk bead. I then made a vertical cut and was able to remove all of the sealant. I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was so I bought this tool before I even tried it. I will not use the triangular rubber end. I prefer to use my finger so I can feel if there are any thinner areas…

Pros
  • Silicone rubber twist triangle with 3 bead profiles (narrow, medium or wide) for applying sealant and leveling to a satisfactory finish
Cons
  • Small things

Best caulking tool - although some light DIY is required

This tool is also available under the Husky for Home Depot brand. This is by far the best compression tool I've found. This is my second. I put it in about 50 silicone tubes a year, and with the following tips it will be good enough for your commercial use for a $5 tool. I suggest: clean the rubber three-way tip every time you put it down. 100% silicone cannot be removed with solvent, it must be shaved off with a razor blade after it has set somewhat. That's why I'm giving up my first…

Pros
  • Works with acrylic, latex and silicone sealants and is handy for windows, bathtubs and showers
Cons
  • No instructions

Does two jobs mediocre

It's not clear why this tool is called a 3 in 1 tool as it only does two jobs. It removes some of the old seal and then smooths out the new seal. The fixed and non-replaceable cutting blade is quite wide, so it doesn't go deep into the gap between the tiles. In trying to get him to get more (enough) old caulk, I applied too much pressure, resulting in damage to the top of the tub. I was hoping that the tool would remove all of the sealer by digging deep into the gap between the tiles. For this…

Pros
  • 3 in 1 caulking tool with comfortable soft grip
