It's a smaller rug than I expected but I use it on the kitchen table in our RV.
When I was ironing the curtains on this rug (using the steam boost function) I found that the rug was soaked underneath when I was done. As such, I would not use this rug over good quality wood furniture or fabric that you don't want to get wet. A bath towel underneath the mat can work, but it will likely cause the mat to shift while ironing. Edges to keep it in place. There is a mat with built in magnets that will sit nicely on your washer/dryer or metal tables but I don't have either in my RV so this needs to be done.
