One of the reasons I bought it was the beautiful wood, but it looked better in the photo.

When I ordered this I took a ruler and compared the length to the measurements given. It seemed long enough to use with my shard. Not so! Once you start squeezing the cabbage, it will disappear into the jar. If you plan on using this with a pitcher, forget it, it's too short. This works very well for stone jars. If that's what you're buying for, it's probably worth it, although there are a few other simpler free options. One of the reasons I bought it was the beautiful wood, but it looked better in the photo, probably because they used something to finish it. It was boring and less quality than I expected.
