Review on 📷 Enhanced Canon EOS 40D 10.1 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) by David Bowens

I wanted to buy a digital SLR. Many years ago I bought a Canon A-1 SLR camera. I was very happy with it, but now it's outdated and you won't even find suitable lenses. Long out of production. I chose Canon. I first looked at the Digital Rebel XTi. Canon then released an update for the 30d. I've seen numerous rave reviews about the 40d. Revain had a camera with a 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM kit lens. I decided to upgrade my choice and bought this camera. I have no regrets about my choice. I'm a beginner and don't know much about digital photography, but this camera will help you a lot with its many software modes. The great thing about digital photography, which has been mentioned many times, is that you take a bad picture and you delete it. And it's so true. Study the manual and experiment, and before long you'll be making wonderful photos. 40d is bigger than Rebel and way better. Its body is made of magnesium alloy, which makes it heavier, but that's nothing to complain about. This is a "crop camera" with a focus factor of 1.6. This helps with telephoto shots, but wide angle hurts as it increases your focal length by 1.6x. It supports EF and EF-S lenses. I give an example. I bought the camera in November 2007. In February of this year, a colleague and friend asked me to come to her daughter's wedding just to take pictures. They hired a wedding photographer. I said I would but I didn't know what the shots would be as I was still learning how to use the thing. No matter what they say, we still hired a photographer. I took the camera, a 28-135 kit and a Speedlite 580EX II flash. I left most of the framing decisions to the camera and flash, and using techniques I remembered from my film SLR days, I took about 175 different shots. Never done a wedding in my life. To my surprise, most of the shots were great. So much so that the bride's parents told me my shots were no worse than any professional they hired. No, not all were good. There were lighting errors. The reception took place under neon lights, which I missed with the camera settings. The post-processing helped a lot. Overall I am very happy with this camera and would recommend it to anyone looking for a non full frame DSLR on the market. Another point: if you have a Nikon or Canon camera, check out the DxO post-processing software. It corresponds to a specific camera body and lens for image processing. This is a great program, especially if you shoot in RAW format. BobJames
