One of the other reviewers suggested that this device would work much better if there was some sort of non-slip rubber pad on smooth cans. Tired of it sliding on almost every jar I tried to open with it, I decided to take this advice and cut 2 small pieces of the perforated sheet of rubber used to line the shelves to keep items on it from sliding and glue them to the curve opening handles. Rice is included. The opener now opens any jar or bottle it fits in without slipping and there is no need to press on the opener to prevent slipping.
