Skeptical. but it worked perfectly! Saved us a lot of money.

After 10 years our second bathroom needed a replacement shower cartridge. We thought it would be an easy do-it-yourself project but ran into problems at every step. We even had to hire a plumber just to help us pull the threaded bushing out because it wouldn't move AT ALL. Then he informs us that he can't finish the job either because the dork who installed the shower covered the screws with tiles to get the cartridge out! He said his tile specialist could charge over $300 for tile cutting. The?! We then called a very reliable jack of all trades and he told us SURE the tiles were going to crack and before he came out we had to find extra tiles to replace. I said BYE to him and came to Revane to look for a solution. I looked at 3 different 4" bits and settled on this one because it was very reasonable for the price and I knew we would probably only use it for this project. I was very skeptical and fully expected, that it would fail but to our great surprise it worked amazingly! We were practicing outside on an old piece of tile and the bit missed EVERYTHING.My husband said the WTH and Rambo style went into the shower and just squeezed it hard to get him through the shiny surface. I used to squirt a bottle of water on the tile and bite until he went to cool it down. Once it passed the shiny surface, it sliced through the rest with ease. I screamed kept telling him to be careful and drive slower because I was so worried the tiles would break. The photo shows the cut is very clean with almost no chips. Pass thick F read without hitting the cartridge. I can't believe it finally worked and couldn't be happier with my purchase! FYI: We used it in our DeWalt drill and made sure to do a lot of lead lines with a pencil because we had to apply it accurately to the cartridge or there would be a big problem.

Pros
  • Can be used with a standard power drill (except this item)
Cons
  • Doubtful
