Mitutoyo confirms that the "ORIGIN " button is no longer recessed on the 500 series calipers
I had some concerns about the fakes I ordered from Revain. First off, mine are the real McCoy. I had an issue with mine, based on the fake checklist provided, the ORIGIN button wasn't recessed but passed all other checks. So I emailed Mitutoyo directly some pictures of the calipers and the documentation. Response was very quick and they confirmed that they made changes to the 500 series calipers and the ORIGIN knob is no longer recessed. The wording specifically stated that the change affected the -30 model, but it goes without saying that the entire 500 series switched to it. The button is no longer a recess on -30 models. Your caliper looks authentic
