So, after some initial problems, literally Stratux related, Sean at Crew Dog Electronics contacted me within the hour. Full disclosure, as it's been over 30 days (nearly 2 months) since I bought the Stratux I haven't even considered getting permission from Crew Dog Electronics as a viable option. So I mistakenly assumed I was alone with any "problems" I had with Stratux. However, I was very wrong. Even at this point, CDE's Sean was quick to assess the situation. Regarding my loss of GPS signal with Statux while flying, it actually turned out that the EFB platform I use Foreflight has had serious problems losing communication with ADS-B devices like Stratux and Stratus 2 ever since when they released their latest update. After doing some research I seem to be far from the only one having issues with GPS signal loss with an ADS-B receiver used in conjunction with Foreflight. This is clearly a Foreflight issue and NOT a Stratux issue and as such it seems some of these people with similar issues are looking to other EFB platforms and rightly so. That being said, almost two months later, Sean at Crew Dog Electronics is offering to inspect, repair or replace my Stratux at no cost if there is a real issue with the internal GPS and of course fixes the loose antenna connection issue I mentioned in my original rating. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. After several email exchanges with Sean over the past few days or so on the matter, it's pretty clear that he stands by his product, is genuinely passionate about bringing out a quality product, yet is quick to resolve any potential issues with Stratux. You really can't beat that kind of customer service, especially when the alternative costs you around $1,000. UPDATE 11/02/17: I received the unit back from Crew Dog Electronics a few days ago and finally had the opportunity to fly the unit yesterday. and worked great! Incidentally, ForeFlight also released an update while the device was at Crew Dogs Electronics, apparently after numerous complaints of signal loss, and lo and behold, not a single issue after the update. However, Crew Dogs Electronics was kind enough to include their new Stratux mount, which ran smoothly on the flying lawn mower, aka the Cessna 152. I have to emphasize once again that they are absolute professionals in crew and at the top of their games canine electronics. For your health.
