Great product and customer service!

I watched a few YouTube videos on how I converted my 1948 Ford 8N tractor to electronic ignition and after seeing this particular setup I was excited to try it. When it arrived I rewatched the YouTube video and followed it almost step by step. Everything was going great until I tried mounting the ignition actuator on the central distributor shaft. There is no way it will snap into place like in the video. After a few tries it was half advanced, but not enough for the rotor knob to engage on the center shaft. I went ahead and installed everything that came with the kit, but the locking ring didn't fit in the channel. When I took it all apart again and tried to remove the spark drive from the shaft - it fell apart and 4 tiny magnets inside fell to the ground! I contacted Per Tronix directly and after a few minutes of explaining what happened, they sent me a new Spark Drive for free with no shipping. When the new one arrived it was also too small to just slide in. I called Per Tronix again and explained my difficulties. The technician was happy to help and after carefully sanding the tabs on the inside of the drive with a grinding wheel on my Dremel tool, it finally snapped into place. The reason for the difficulties was not the production of Per Tronic, but the fact that the previous owner installed an aftermarket distributor on my tractor. From what I learned from the techs, this is a common problem with aftermarket dealers. After putting everything back together I was very pleased with the increased spark I have from each spark plug. I would recommend this kit to convert your 8N tractor to electronic ignition and if you are having trouble installing the product - don't try to force the spark drive onto the shaft like I did, give it a call. Hope that helps!
