Review on 🥗 CARTINTS Green Collapsible Food Storage Containers: 4 Piece Set with Lids, Silicone Lunch Containers, Microwave and Freezer Safe by Kevin Stephan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good watertight seal

These have a good watertight seal. I tested their seal by filling them with water and holding them upside down, and they kept in every drop. The silicone fails the pinch test. When pinched and twisted, the green silicone turns white. See photo. If colored silicone turns white when stretched, that means it’s not pure silicone, but is adulterated with cheap fillers. Only my more expensive silicone kitchenware passes this test. This test is more important for bakeware than for storage containers, as baked plastic smells bad. At room temperature, these containers have no smell, and don’t mpart any smell or flavor to the food. I microwaved some water in one of them (with the button popped up to release steam), and the container didn’t impart anything noticeable to the water. These are great containers for lunch or leftovers, with the caveat that I wouldn’t want to eat out of them with a metal knife and fork, as I’d worry about scratching the silicone. Plastic utensils should be fine.

Pros
  • Kitchen & Dining
Cons
  • The lids are difficult to clean thoroughly and often have food residue trapped in the crevices
