Avoid using on quartz

I installed new quartz counters a few months ago and they never looked like they did on the showroom floor. The mica pieces were dull and the luster was not deep. I bought this product hoping to improve the shine. It was a disaster! I think the product is actually intended for more porous rocks (like granite and marble). It never penetrated the surface and stayed on the current finish like a dull film. I was also very sensitive to fingerprints and even laying down a towel left a mark. I tried waiting all night to buff it but the oils just stayed there like a cloudy film. This makes sense as it's mostly oil and quartz is very non-porous (one of the reasons we bought it). I must stress that I have no idea if this product will work as stated on the label, my experience is only with quartz. From you with quartz, I'm happy to report that a soft polish (i.e. soft abrasive, not chemical) and lots of polish gave a much deeper finish. I also installed the same lighting as in the jewelry departments to highlight the brilliance of the stone. Counters look great now!
