Updated on 03/21/2021 The connection keeps randomly disconnecting. Sometimes I hear a crackling sound coming from the car speakers and when I tap the device with my hand it reconnects. It will be fine for a while, but every once in a while it will revert to a random shutdown. Poor quality control in production/assembly. So I bought this a while ago. It was easy to install and worked great. However, it was randomly and constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. I've searched the internet and found that others are having the same problem. After months of frustration, I found that it had to be close to the phone (or Bluetooth source) to stay connected. I installed it and it was some distance away from my phone (behind my center console, next to the passenger footwell). When I moved the device closer to the front of the center console, the problem went away. I had this problem with two different phones so I know it wasn't the phone. An excellent device for cars without a Bluetooth radio and a handy connector for connecting to a head unit. I would like the manufacturer to have some guidance on the location and restrictions in the installation guide.
