Installed a 2000 lb Champion 12003 winch on a Ford Transit Connect van in a space normally occupied by two center row passenger seats. A local sheet metal fabricator has developed a strong but inexpensive custom winch mount held in place by recycled saddle bolts. The app is a bit quirky and probably not what Champion envisioned for their product. Powered by a 12V marine battery, the winch hoists a 350-pound vintage Hammond organ (on cart) up a metal wheelchair ramp and into the back of the van. He won't win races, but he makes the job almost easy. The winch stays cool and handles the load without breaking a sweat. And he's turned an otherwise difficult task for two (or more) people into a task that can safely be done with just one finger. Couldn't be happier. Or maybe the boys who don't have to fight this beast anymore.
